Subject:950 Orcutt Rd. development
Hello Advisory Body Members,
My family and I are opposed to the Connect project at 950 Orcutt Rd. in San Luis Obispo. There is not enough parking for
the proposed 78 apartments and their guests and families. The site is a former gas station that has its own
environmental concerns that need to be addressed before living quarters are allowed to be placed on the land. The
environmental impact will be huge and more safety reports on human habitation on that site must be done. Also, there
is not enough parking for this mixed use type of development and there is no parking at all along Orcutt Road and other
developments planned will be impacted greatly for parking. Where are guests going to park during family gatherings and
visits to the community?
The proposed parking structure configuration does not take into account all the aspects of car ownership such as if a
vehicle needs to be towed or is stored too long, a handicap individual or if the mechanism breaks down? In the long run,
this will not work and residents will not rent here because its too much of a hassle and residents will end up having to
pay to park where they live. This is not acceptable here in San Luis Obispo and is not good for the community. It will
negatively impact its residents and neighbors.
Please do not approve this project and keep studying the negative environmental and impact on residents and neighbors
of the project. Thank you.
Ann Lee
