Subject:Regarding pending zoning changes : tiny homes
I’m writing to commend City Staff and Council for following through on initiatives related to larger lot single home
zoning which will make it easier for owners to legally add so-called Tiny Homes and Tiny Homes on Wheels to their
property.
Such changes – properly encouraged and implemented – will add to the quality and diversity of life in SLO, the interest-
value of our already interesting architecture, and reduce urban, inter-city sprawl and traffic.
In our community there is a great deal of interest in affordable housing. Smaller units are ideal for some individuals and
will relieve upward pressure on prices of larger units.
As is so often the case, San Luis Obispo leads the way nationally in recognizing the importance of exploring alternatives
to the stark residential choices current available.
