Subject:City Council meeting September the 4th, 2018, Item 15 Anholm Bike Boulevard
Dear Mayor and City Council,
After reading so many letters to the council for September the 4th CC meeting, item 15 on the Anholm Bike Boulevard,
I'm confused on who's voices you listen to? Many of these letters are not written by people who live in the city of San
Luis Obispo. Certainly the residents, your constituents should be listened to more thoughtfully than others who protest
for the bike track. If you do not have a residential address or location in San Luis where one lives, then I think their
letters should be mute. You are our city officials.
BikeSLO would be nothing without our tax dollars subsidizing their below market rent on their city-owned building that
is their place of business. Yet, they get to lobby the city council over us the residents. This is certainly a conflict of
interest. There are many letters written by city staff in favor of the bike track in our neighborhood. Aren't we the
residents paying for these staff members?
The funny thing is, these letters are coming from people who did not vote you into office. The majority of the people of
San Luis did, but the many of these letters make you believe these are "your" people.
Anholm is our neighborhood, please put an emphasis on the letters you receive from our neighborhood. Where the
effect of the inevitable "Bike Track" (Which is the direction this all seems to be going) will change the life's of many in a
negative way. Because we are an aged neighborhood, it doesn't mean our voices are weak.
Please consider sending this back, where the "Bike Track" is not in the body of the plan.
Thank you again for your consideration,
Nancy T. Pickering of Broad Street of the Anholm District of San Luis Obispo
