In light of new developments on Foothill (including 22 Chorro and 790 Foothill) that are very likely to affect bike, pedestrian, and auto traffic and parking on Chorro and Broad Streets as well as Foothill, I suggest that it would be wise to wait and observe those effects before enacting plans for additional changes to Chorro, Broad, Ramona, and other streets in the neighborhood. Could we SLO down here a bit, take one thing at a time, and make additional changes as new information can inform decisions. Making premature decisions would be likely to result in having to tear up the new construction involved in creating the bikeway. That would be a waste of time and money. I also want to note how difficult you have made it for citizens to understand the particular plan now being considered. With all of the various drawings and amendments over recent months, I wonder if even council members can keep track of what is current on the drawing board. My understanding was that one plan under consideration would block traffic heading east on Ramona from turning right on Broad in order to head toward the freeway or toward downtown on Chorro. As I live on Ramona, those are routes that I use frequently, and it would be a significant inconvenience to have to drive to Foothill in order to get to downtown or to the freeway. I strongly oppose any such plan. Also, for all of us who live on Ramona and streets south of Ramona, do you really want to divert all that auto traffic on to Foothill at the same time you are adding traffic congestion from the new and huge student housing developments on Foothill? Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Linden Nelson 290 Ramona Drive San Luis Obispo, CA 93405 1
