Foster <ted-foster@sbcglobal.net> Sent:Monday, September 3, 2018 9:59 PM To:E-mail Council Website Subject:Anholm Bikeway September 4 meeting Mayor Harmon and council members, There have been many acrimonious comments about the proposed bikeway. As a resident of the Anholm neighborhood for 48 years, I also would very much like to have streets safe for pedestrians and bicycles. The plans submitted by the Anholm Neighbors United for traffic calming have some good suggestions for slowing down traffic which would make shared streets much more comfortable for everyone and not divert more traffic onto Chorro and Meinecke. I am opposed to reclassifying Chorro, Lincoln, Murray and Meinecke to allow more traffic volumes. I am also opposed to two way cycle tracks which are dangerous. Imagine making a left turn from the right lane with a blind spot of 15 feet. I would like to see this final decision on the middle section delayed at least 3 months to be able to work out a solution more acceptable to all parties. It would also allow for an assessment of the effects of 22 Chorro when it is at least partly occupied. Thank you for your consideration, Roberta Foster Meinecke Ave 1
