Subject:Anholm Bikeway Plan
Hello, my name is Charles Margaroli, I've lived on Mission and Almond streets for my
entire life minus 8 of my 69 years. I'm the second generation of my family to live on
Mission St. since 1930.
Since I don't know if this letter will be read or not I won't go into great detail to my total
objection of this Bikeway Proposal that will disrupt so many family's in our
neighborhood. I would just like to say that wasting so much money for the benefit of so
few is just ridiculous. Blocking off of the Broad St. at Ramona will impact the easy trip
of so many to and from the shopping center and will congest the intersection of Foothill
and Chorro Streets to a gridlock situation. I always hear the argument of ''decreasing
one's carbon footprint' well that might be so in a few cases but it will
dramatically INCREASE my and so many other peoples CF by the hundreds. Does this
even sink in to those few bicyclists brains?
Losing parking spaces in no big deal to those that plan out these changes in our
streets, no, not unless the parking space is YOURS, then it might make a difference to
you.
So many bicyclists are riding just for exercise and pleasure , gee, I wish someone
would put a golf driving range down their street so I could go outside and enjoy my
exercise, of course at the expense of all the people that live on the driving range.
Simple, common sense is really lacking in this proposal. This bicycle coalition really
has taken you guys for a ride.
I could go on to make many more points but you probably won't read this anyway.
OH yea one more thing, for the people that are going to speak at the meeting tonight,
have them state exactly where they live. People from outside the local area really don't
have a say to what we do or don't do with our town and especially our neighborhood. I
was at one meeting and one guy that spoke for the bicycle proposal, (found out later)
was from Templeton. He should have NO say in our matter.
