Subject:Anholm Bike Lane
My name is Larry Hazen, I am a bicyclist & I live at 216 Chorro St near corner of Mission & Chorro. My
feelings/perspective regarding proposed bike lane is as follows:
1. Focus should be on reducing speed of cars for safety, decreased noise, & decreased exhaust fumes - all adverse to
families living along Chorro. Increased signage, speed bumps (e.g. Broad St), solar blinking lights/signs suggested to slow
traffic
2. Decreasing speed of bicyclists and enforcing rules of road for bicyclists important since their speed & disregard of stop
signs also puts kids/families/pedestrians at risk
3. Reducing volume on Chorro preferable. Encourage access to downtown via Foothill to Higuera, Marsh, Palm etc
4. Dedicated bike lane should be considered if above measures are unsatisfactory. Personally, I feel safe on residential
streets where there are traffic calming/slowing measures in place (e.g. Broad with speed bumps).
