I moved to your city from Nipomo a few years ago, and the ONLY"affordable" ROOMS-FOR-RENT, I could find in your big city,were on the property of Bill Slvers on Prado Road, next door to the new homeless shelter(which unfortunatel on� �wa��raa�a �b��u��n��'I��^��tier�a c��''��.t��c��r�t homeless. Bill rented me a newly remodeled and furnished room for$350 per month which included utilities! F�a+��-r�r�t�s�ivir� t�+�r��N�'NJ�"�r�rue �a i�t ^�� N�av��1Ff�a�da�b��r��, until c�threats. Currently there are a half dozen others living in his two homes on this property and some used to be homeless. One is a Cal Poly student from a campus where a newspaper stated a shocking one out of five students are homeless!All these tenants have low income and all I met are nice people. After the sessions I rushed to the hall and meeting room to personally talk to the candidates,but some left too early,while others were too busy talking to many other people to even reach. The few I did get to speak to said they were IMPRESSED with my solutions! I AM ALSO DIS6USTED WITH THE FACT THAT MOST OF THIS ADVICE REGARDING SOLUTIONS TO BIG PROBLEMS,WAS GIVEN TO EACH OF THE COUNTY SUPERVISORS last month,with my phone number to respond, and NONE responded!This is civil apathy with the voters.I also sent these solutions to the director supervisor of the RTA,as well as the director of the County Planning Commission.They were the ONLY responders.However, they did not respond to my attempt to meet with them to discuss reasons! I AM ALSO DISAPPOINTED with the EDITOR of NEW TIMES,which is the best County newspaper addressing our biggest problems and solutions.Over two months I hand delivered Letters to the Editor or Editorials reg'arding my SOLUTIONS to HOMELESS AFFORDABLE HOUSING,SERIOUS COMPLAINTS ON THE BUS SYSTEM, and the TOXIC POLLUTION between Avila town center and Pirate's Cove.They did not print these,yet INSTEAD ran many repetitive letters,arguing the SAME points,concerning Diablo Nuclear Plant, Pirate's Cove,and other common issues.My solutions are original.They have only published 2 of my editorials and 1 letter in 3 years! I ASKED AT THE FRONT DESK,IN WRITING AND BY PHONE MESSAGES, I want to meet with the Editor with an appointment.She refused to answer any of it and ignores me.She refused to give me an explanation why she did not print the SOLUTIONS I mentioned,which WORKED in our counties quite well! I NEED YOUR HELP IN VOICING MY SOLUTIONS in NEW TIMES and THE TRIBUNE(it has printed NONE of my letters!).I am amazed because for 4 decades living on Maui,their island-wide local MAUI SUN,LAHAINA NEWS, and MAUI'lANA PRINTED"ALL"of MY LETTERS &editorials,and the MAUI NEWS most of these.As the 1970s Executive Editor of THE HAWAIIAN TIMES and MAUI MOON newspapers, I am no poorly researched reject!
