It has become the symbol of bad taste on the part of the owner, and cowardice on the part of the City. Residents are now curious to see who will win: the owner thumbing his nose at city regulations (which are, as you know, that the color should be consistent with community guidelines and compatible with the surrounding neighborhood) or the City. Apparently, the city attorney has again been trying to strip the ARC of whatever power you have left, which is color and shape of a building. If the city takes this away from you, there is no reason for the ARC to even exist. I therefore urge you to insist on sticking to your guns, and demand that the owner--who broke the rules of our city--be made to paint his building with the color that had been agreed upon earlier by the ARC, color that matches the surrounding neighborhood, and would soften the bulk of this eyesore. Thank you. Odile Ayral San Luis Obispo 1
