Please look at the recent comments posted on Next Door and the Letters to the Editor following the June 28 article in
the Tribune. Both have wide ranging comments unanimously against the height intrusion (save the response of the
Executive Director of the Home Builders Association).
I have been trying to make locals aware of the threat of 75 foot buildings for two years. In that time, I have learned that
people are largely ignorant of the threat and/or they lack the visual imagination of how out of whack this height limit is
with what makes our Downtown so special. When explained I have found them to be (100%) shocked and opposed.
We are currently watching the sprawl and the infill since the Council’s “hands are tied”. Let’s keep our wits about us
before wrecking the thing that most of us love and that attracts envious tourists.
