Chair Papps and committee members,
First, thank you for stand you took on the Nipomo Street project next to the Creamery.
Now, I implore you to help us protect our beloved SLO, by doing what you can to deny the 1144 Chorro Street project.
A 75’ tall building anywhere in our city, but especially in our downtown, will be the beginning of the end for what makes
our community so special. If one project of that scope is allowed, how will we ever be able to stop the upward growth?
The historic Wineman hotel is such a lovely feature of that block, and would be absolutely dwarfed by a 75’ tall
neighbor.
I am on my way home from Tucson, where I spent Thanksgiving. They are on a growth spree, upward and onward, and it
is not a pretty sight. The tall buildings create concrete canyons...the noise echoes, the heat rises, the sky disappears...it’s
very oppressive. And it’s ugly.
Again, thank you for your support in protecting our historical and unique downtown San Luis Obispo.
Please deny this developer a green light to forever change our way of life. Bigger is not better.
Thank you,
Debbie Anthony
