Because I can not attend in person tomorrow, I ask that you consider the staff time and resources that will be required under this program, which intends to provide temporary housing. Is there an expectation by Council or staff of how many SLO City residents meet the proposed criteria and will apply for this program? Is that number 5, 25, 100? From my experience, there are very few single family homes within the City where a tiny home can physically be located at the rear of the property and screened from any public right of way, unless installed by the use of a crane. While the intent of the tiny home program is noble, I believe a program such as the Clovis Cottage Home Program (https://cityofclovis.com/planning-and-development/planning/cottage-home-program/) better meets the long terms goals of the City. The program includes 3 pre-approved floorplans for homeowners to choose from, fee waivers, expedited processing and provides additional permanent housing stock. Please consider the cost-benefit analysis of regulating temporary tiny homes vs improving homeowner's ability to add permanent housing for other residents. Thank you.
