I am writing about the proposed development outlined in the subject line of this email. As a SLO local, I have seen
the city change plenty over the past 65 years - but never have I witnessed such exponential changes as have
occurred during the past several years.
One of the unique features that makes San Luis Obispo so charming is that one can see the surrounding hills from
downtown. But those beautiful views are being choked off by excessive development. The building height limit was
established for a reason; forward thinking local politicians and planners from the past were able to see how special
San Luis truly is, and endeavored to preserve its character for future generations. Out-of-town developers simply do
not have the same perspective as those of us who grew up here and have raised families here. Please - let’s not
ruin the special place we have.
