I will take very little of your time. Please know that the plans to allow the tall building/buildings to be constructed within the City Limits are simply not compatible with the history, culture or environment of San Luis Obispo. We have always been proud and wise to maintain the history, culture and environment of our beloved “City”. I, as well as my brother, Barry have, in the past, served in the Parks and Recreation Committee. I was very instrumental in the existence of the Sinsheimer Pool. With a history of commercial landscape, environmental construction, I believe you must consider the height combined with the footprint and result of the “shadow effect” it would cause within downtown. People live, desire to live, in San Luis Obispo for very specific reasons……most have/are sacrificing significantly to stay here. I have 5 young adult grandchildren (the 4th generation) who have deep desire to remain here…..(of course, that is an entirely different subject which the City is discussing…which is good as I have 3 of those grandchildren who would like to purchase a home here)….back to the subject of the overpowering footprint you seem to give enough credence to actually consider…… To keep it short….this would change San Luis Obispo entirely….Please, please understand that this is not desired by “the locals”, “the old-timers” or anyone else who understands urban design. Thank you for listening…… Pamela Karleskint-Crum pamelakcrum@yahoo.com 1
