My husband and I will not be able to be at your meeting on the fifteenth, but would like you to....no
IMPLORE YOU......to deny this monstrosity at 790 Foothill. There is absolutely no reason for it, no low
income families will be living there, it will provide more overpriced student housing that no one wants
to live in, parking in the area will be even worse, if that is possible, (try walking down
Cerro Remauldo across from Pacheco School when Poly is in session). You will be putting a local
successful small business out of business (Black Horse. Shame on you.) and at the last meeting we
attended there was an elderly gentleman behind us who tearfully said " if they build this monstrosity my
home will never see sunshine again." That may seem like small potatoes to some but I
think that is terrible to do to a resident who has lived here, raised his family and contributed to the city
his entire life. Would you want that to happen to your home?
Do unto others..........just think about it. No sunshine to wake up to.
Progress, yes, but let's do it wisely, or we will regret it for generations to come. Don't get swayed by
outside developers looking to make some money off of the backs of SLO citizens and their quality of life.
We have attended the ARC and Planning commission meetings concerning this project.
They seem to respectfully listen to 95% of the people talking against this project, and then seem to do
what they had already decided to do before the meeting even started.
It feels like such a waste of time to those of who bother to attend.
So please, please. We hope to come back from our business trip to hear that you did the right thing by
the SLO residents of this neighborhood. You decision could really turn things around for all of us, and
put us back in the direction of working together to make an even better San Luis Obispo. I have
confidence in you.
Thank you for your time,
Judi Tewell
