Our housing crisis here in San Luis Obispo is the working class population. These are those who are working, married, raising families, those who may not be able to afford nor want to buy a home right now. I know that when I was at this point in my life, I would not have wanted to live in a dormitory setting with college-age students. I currently live on Wilson Street and jokingly let my friends know that I am "raising other peoples' kids" as I have college kids living in my neighborhood who are experiencing "freedom" and "living on their own" for the first time in their young lives. I have learned to maneuver around the intersection of Foothill and Chorro and I shudder to think what may happen in an emergency when the EMT's/fire trucks need to get out of that fire station. I ask you also to consider the beauty of our beloved Bishop's Peak. I was born here in San Luis Obispo and raised on Princeton Place. Please do not cover up my memories. I ask that you adhere to the parameters already set for the height and "footprint" for projects that are to be approved here in San Luis Obispo. Please approve a much needed housing development for working people (not college students) that is built within the already approved parameters of San Luis Obispo. Respectfully, Wendy McFarland 1
