Hi, my name is Jeff Jantos and I live in San Luis Obispo. I wanted to suggest that the city prioritize two recreational
bicycle skills or bike park (like Morro Bay) in Sinsheimer and Laguna Lake Parks. My recommendation for two dirt bike
parks close to CL Smith Elementary and Laguna Middle School as well as Sinsheimer Elementary School is because these
locations allow for safe passage for children on bicycles. I understand that there is going to be a BMX track put in at
some point at Dairy Creek but, this location still forces kids to be driven in cars to this facility. Sinsheimer park is located
in a neighborhood which is accessed by the rail road safety trail. And Laguna Lake Park will have a Class I bicycle path
running the length of LOVR with the first phase of the San Luis Ranch development project. Creating bicycle parks that
can be easily and safely accessed by kids after school will teach children that they have the ability to get themselves to
where they want to be. Bike Parks like Skate Parks are fun for adults too and are integral to skill development and serve
as a gateway to developing cyclists of all ages.
Thanks
