Subject:Bike Parks in SLO
Good day Parks and Rec Commission Members.
I sat down to write a letter to you in support of Bike Parks in SLO, when a friend and ally in this quest sent me
a copy of the letter she had written to you. I suspect you may hear from some kids tonight, so I will yield my
time to them, so that their young voices can be heard.
I wholeheartedly agree with everything she said here and couldn't say it better myself, so I am stealing her
email and requesting your support of the concepts expressed within it. Thank you for your consideration. In
case you missed it the first time, please see her email below. Thank you for your consideration.

PRC committee members,
Thank you for taking public input on SLO parks tonight. I am unable to attend the workshop, but wanted to
voice my support for bicycle recreation opportunities at two parks within our city limits. Laguna Lake Park and
Sinsheimer Park are locations that kids can access safely and easily on their own from the surrounding
residential neighborhoods. Installing bike parks in those locations would give kids an opportunity to exercise
outdoors, hone their bicycle handling skills, and take advantage of the growing network of bike lanes in those
neighborhoods.
Any time our community can add recreation opportunities that don't require getting a car, we make progress
toward two major city goals: sustainable transportation and climate action. Bike parks would be a great fit for
SLO’s active residents, and they will help our city grow in a healthy direction.
Thanks for your consideration,
