To whom it may concern,
I'm writing to let you know my opinion for park improvements. I have 3 very active boys and would love to see a dirt
bike park in the Sinsheimer and Laguna lake area. We used to live in Fort Collins, CO and truly miss our bike park that
was within riding distance from our house. It was such a great way for our boys to gain confidence on the bike and
expend energy in a positive way. We love going to the moro bay bike park, but honestly, it's just too far to do on a
regular basis; plus, it requires us to load 4‐5 bikes and drive 20 minutes so this turns into an all day commitment.
Furthermore, we would love to have the parks in this area connected (as much as possible) with bike paths that are
totally separated from cars. Again, of you look up fort Collins bike paths, you can get an idea of how other cities have
done this well.
Also, I think more people will be using the Laguna lake area with the incoming housing. What if a paved walking and
biking path were available to access that area? Nice smooth concrete paths would be fun to ride roller skates or razors
on and give families an option for getting fit together. Improvements on the outdoor gym equipment around the lake
would be nice too. Also, I know that many moms and young kids would appreciate a stronger police presence around
the lake to discourage the homeless from hanging around that area. That is one of the main issues that I hear of as to
why families don't use that park as much. Rancho Santa Margarita Lake in orange county has done both of these things
and you can reference that.
Thank you so much for working hard towards a better future for SLO!
