Subject:French Hospital Expansion - Guidelines for Community Involvement
Please forward my email and complaint of lack of proper notification to the appropriate body. I would like to
communicate four issues:
1) I recently became aware that French Hospital has plans for aggressive expansion. I am concerned that there has not
been proper notification and involvement of the community. Could I please be informed of what activities were
supposed to occur to be within planning commission guidelines?
2) I am extremely concerned about a large parking structure with Helipad being located behind my bedroom where
there is ample and more industrial space in the rear of the building near the train tracks. This makes no sense. Why
place a helipad adjacent to residents when there are alternatives?
3) I am extremely concerned about the PROPOSED generator Yard and the noise that is created. This should also be
placed near the industrial part of the property close to the train tracks and should be properly sound insulated.
4) Tighter control during construction. We have had poor experience with French Hospital courtesy in protecting the
neighbors from noise issues before 7AM when they are engaged in development and building. Crews start early,we
were constantly awoken before 7, often at 5 or 6 with loud noise. The hospital does little to mitigate noise and we failed
in having the hospital respond to complaints, including multiple calls and letters.
