Re: 1308 Monterey Street “The Mix” request for expanded hours
My name is Susanne Harmeyer. Our mission style building at 1305 Palm Street has been in our family
since the early 1960’s. We are on the historical list of buildings known as the Righetti Apartments. We
have a deep connection to the San Luis Obispo community and would like to preserve the quality of life
that the Central Coast offers its residence.
Unfortunately, we have seen many economic changes in our neighborhood that have impacted the
quality of life for us and our tenants. Our neighborhood has become very busy from the constant traffic
and impacts of having restaurant businesses near our building. We recently have had a tenant move out
just because of the “The Mix” noise.
The biggest complaints are as follows:
The garbage pickup early in the morning on a daily basis for either recycling, food waste or
garbage. (The trucks come between 6:30-6:45 AM 7 days a week.)
Parking issues and traffic from the businesses nearby. The tenants often need to circle for
parking or park down the street and then later move their cars closer.
The street sweeping schedule at 3:30 AM in the mornings wakes us daily.
For these reasons, I do not recommend that the expansion of hours of operation for the businesses at
“The Mix” than what they currently are now.
