We have owned and operated this property since 1988 and have generally agreed with improvement suggestions offered for the Downtown. However, this proposed PBID is neither fair nor appropriate. First of all, it imposes a tax on a select group of property owners (approximately 110) to cover issues and concerns that apply to aff of Downtown. Over the five year life of this PBID, that would be a significant amount. Additionally, this tax puts us at a competitive disadvantage. Our property is at the fringe of the PBlD zone. Ar►y commercial kuilding one half block or more south of us on Higuera Street is not subject to the assessment and doesn't have to pass it on to their tenants.
