Subject: Nipomo - Palm Garage and Repertory Theater
Please require that the architects for the theater coordinate their design to the garage. It's amazing that these two
projects have no bearing visually unto each other. It is likely that the theater architects can claim that they represent
the 21st Century, that modernism should be welcomed, and that the juxtaposition is a lesson - somehow. Please do
recognize that this is not the Railroad district or a Commercial Service zone. Staff has really let the residents, future
users and the ARC down by allowing this attempt at liberating, strident modernism in such proximity to the garage and
its Spanish architecture. I hope that you on the ARC will aspire to the City's famous past practice of requiring a blending
and compatible harmony between buildings. Thank you.
