Subject: Support for Reach Building Code
Dear City Council Members,
I am writing to you to voice my support for the proposed City of San Luis Obispo reach building code for healthy, safe,
energy-efficient homes and buildings. As we move towards running our homes and businesses with electricity from
clean renewable energy sources, new careers and jobs will open up contributing to the economic vitality of the City and
San Luis Obispo County.
Fortunately, thanks to your earlier leadership, starting in January, the City of San Luis Obispo and the City of Morro Bay
will begin contributing clean renewable energy to the grid when the switch is made from PG&E to Monterey Bay
Community Power. And other cities in San Luis Obispo County will follow in 2021.
1
The City of San Luis Obispo often leads the County. Perhaps if the City adopts the reach code, the County will follow.
Thank you,
Linda Poppenheimer
