This is a policy related issue for the City Council’s consideration that is scheduled to be heard at the regularly scheduled City Council meeting on rd September 3. Your message has been provided directly to them. If you have any questions, please contact the Administration Department at (805) 781-7589. The City's recent move against using natural gas is a bridge too far and throws the burden of cost directly on the consumer. On the basis of cost to heat, natural gas is far cheaper than electricity - there is no comparison. The consumer ends up carrying that cost indefinitely, and the electrical demand generated by heating (air and water), cooking, and (increasingly) recharging methods of transportation will rapidly outstrip the ability for a property to self generate with panels. The potential workaround there is to add more electrical storage capacity to each property - but are banks of lithium batteries really going to turn out to be such a great strategy in the future? This proposal is well-intentioned, but short sighted and should be immediately removed from the table. 1 Matt Sansone REALTOR® DRE #01956847 Matt@MattSansone.com 805.704.4040 COMPASS DRE #01854124 1015 Nipomo St. Suite #100 San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 All information herein deemed reliable, but not guaranteed.
