I understand the members of the council are ready to pass rd this Proposal at the Sept. 3 council meeting. I am not opposed to improving the quality of our environment. I am opposed to the way the Council is pushing this proposal through without the community being told about it until the last few weeks…and that was only by chance. Are all of the council members living in an all electric home? It would be a good plan for that to take place. Then, live with it for a year or two and come back with honest comments about how it worked and the real cost to do so. This would affect the livelihood of SO MANY people in San Luis Obispo. We have worked for over 25 years to build a business for two of our sons to take over in the next 5 years. Now, you are going to push through an initative that would put that business at risk. 1 The mayor has been quoted as saying to a local contractor, “It’s a done deal.” th I have reviewed the study from your February 19, 2019, meeting. I saw several times the comment that “stakeholders” would be consulted if the study continued through the system. I don’t know who your stakeholders were that you “consulted” but I have talked to NO ONE in the community that has been consulted by the council, be it contractor or business owner that would be affected. I am hoping the council will reconsider this vote and put it off or at least a year!
