Subject: Natural Gas ban on new homes
I just wanted to write to tell you how disappointed I am with this proposed regulation. Natural gas is an extremely clean
and abundant energy source. And wind and solar is no where near capable of supplying the energy needs in California.
With the shutting down of Diablo Canyon there will be a huge deficit in energy supply and eliminating natural gas from
homes does nothing to eliminate natural gas. It just increases the demand on natural gas fired electrical power plants,
but now the green house gas emissions will be even greater because of the huge losses in converting natural gas to
electricity and then sending it to homes and using electrical energy to heat electric stoves, water heaters etc. You just
add inefficiencies to the system which means we burn more natural gas to do the same amount of work. It is a very
stupid move and not fair to force all of us to follow this totally inefficient process just because some energy ignorant
politically correct people think it is a benefit to the environment which is definitely is not. I totally oppose this very
stupid proposal.
