The City Council has no business mandating which energy option people use in their private residences. And to mandate the most expensive option when living in SLO is already so expensive is ridiculous and against all the affordable housing discussions had by the current council; the economic studies presented in support of this resolution are flawed and biased in regard to the affordability issue. Additionally, no matter where our power is sourced, it will still be delivered on PG&E transmission lines, a company in bankruptcy due to the alleged failure of PG&E to maintain their transmission lines and the resulting conflagrations that destroyed so many homes and lives. Please vote no on the passage of this resolution. Any council member who does vote yes, whether the resolution passes or not, should commit to converting their entire primary residence as well as any other properties they own to 100% electric within 90 days from today. -- Patrick Vowell SLO City resident 1
