It is enormous, without any grace, and completely out of character with the historical neighborhood next door. 2. Its four stories will tower above our beloved Jack House and other historical buildings. It is your job to protect historical SLO. You cannot allow an enormous four-story building next to the Jack House. 3. Where is the parking? A tiny garage the size of two trees on the plans is obviously not enough for a project that is supposed to accommodate both commercial and residential units. These will obviously impact both the Achievement House and the Bank of the Sierra across the street, and many other places around. 4. Finally, the lack of parking is very good for the developers’ pockets, but very bad for the occupants because there is no grocery store downtown. It is hypocritical of the City to demand that people make do without cars, and expect them to live in a food desert at the same time. Also, please have a look at the “Terraces” next door and at the building next to the Gennaro restaurant since they both come from the same architect, and please decide if this is the direction you want for SLO. I hope it’s not, and I hope you will deny this project because I don’t even see how it could be continued with direction, considering the avalanche of problems it would create for our downtown.
