I urge you to approve the SLO REP theater project so that the theater company can continue to offer professional, thought-provoking, and entertaining productions for the benefit of our community. As you know, the former Little Theater and now SLO repertory Theater have been providing a much appreciated community service for over 70 years. The city continues to meet the ever-changing needs of a growing community but sometimes we forget that cultural needs are just as important. It is our local culture which attracts tourists, encourages our citizens to expand their horizons, nurtures artists and entertainers, and helps shape the kind of community we are so be proud of. Every-time I attend a performance at SLOREP I am amazed at how much they can accomplish in a woefully inadequate space. Imagine the impact that they will have if they could increase their seating and continue to offer outstanding performances in an attractive and comfortable setting. SLOREP is a cultural icon which needs to be rewarded for their years of commitment to the theater arts and our community. Again, I ask you to carefully consider the incredible impact that expanding and improving the theater will continue to have on the city for another 70 plus years. Thanks for you consideration, 1 Tom Dowlan 2
