Subject: Please approve SLO Rep Theatre Project
Hello,
I am a resident actor and director with PCPA Pacific Conservatory Theatre in Santa Maria and the company’s casting
director, and I am writing to voice my tremendous support for the SLO Rep Theatre Project. The relationship between
PCPA and SLO Rep has be so valuable to both communities. PCPA’s students, resident actors, and designers have
benefited so much from the opportunities SLO Rep provides, and the opportunities will only continue to grow if SLO Rep
is allowed to grow into a new space.
SLO Rep creates so many positive experiences for students and young professionals. In the new space, SLO REP will be
able to increase its educational programming. The new building will enable SLO REP to more than double the amount of
classes it offers and students it serves. And with the new theatre, SLO REP will finally be able to host student matinees to
area schools.
A strong professional regional theatre in the heart of downtown will have such a positive impact on the community.
There are so many examples of towns that have flourished as their theatre grew- Ashland, Or, Cedar City, Ut, Winona,
Mn, just to name a few. When a town embraces its theatre the town thrives.
I encourage you and implore you to please approve the SLO Rep Theatre Project.

Thank you so much for all you do.
All the best,
Erik
