Subject:SLO Reperory Theatre-a new building.
To City of San Luis Obispo, City Council Members:
I'm writing to support the SLO Rep's proposal for a new building and permanent
home. The "Arts" are a central part of what makes SLO a wonderful place to live. As a
long-time Board member of Festival Mozaic, and a scholarship committee member of The
SLO Community Foundation, I'm always delighted by our local strengths in musical
performance, and education.
However, our visibility in the theatre arts has a smaller profile, as does our strength in
museums, both history oriented, and in the visual arts. As these institutions are
supported, so is our ability to attract, and retain, those community residents who will help
maintain and enhance the vibrancy of this community.
