I walk that area on a regular basis and I am always surprised by the lack of use at this location. I mentioned to city staff that perhaps the city employees who park in the Palm Street garages could park down on the Nipomo lot. I was told they didn't want to walk that far. This would leave more space for people to park closer to the downtown, library, city and county offices. Also of note - I was told that this garage on Nipomo would help with the new hotel at the Creamry and new development at the old Foster Freeze. Of course this means more in-leau fees for the city and more parking in the residential area's. Also I noted an entrance/exit on Palm right across from Mission College Prep. Really bad choice if you look at the same entrance and exit at the Palm garage across from the new hotel. Some days getting across Chorro on Palm requires lots of patience and several lights. Car owners don't want to miss getting in the garage so they tie up everyone else by pulling into the garage behind others waiting in line. As a last note - Please consider the Heyd Adobe and the beautiful trees at this site as worth saving. Sincerely, Sandy Ahearn 1
