Reuse and Recycle the Heyd Adobe Home. To Harmon and City Council: There are so many reasons for maintaining heritage and history as our city continues to approve development and modernization in the downtown. I hope the council will choose to listen to their advisory bodies and preserve the Heyd adobe home. Much of the aesthetic that makes the Dana/Nipomo/Palm/Monterey older downtown neighborhood what it is, is going to be destroyed and lost forever with the addition of the modern large structures of the parking garage and rep. theater. The Heyd home, kept in it current location, will provide both residents and visitors to the area a sense of the culture, heritage and history of the the neighborhood and downtown area. Residents need all of this maintained, and tourists and visitors will be expecting to find it in the San Luis Obispo downtown. REUSE and RECYCLE! Preserve the Heyd adobe home.
