Subject:Letter about tonight's meeting
Dear Honorable Council members,
I had a thought about tonight’s meeting about the garage-theatre complex. That would be the Council
voting to keep the Heyd Adobe. This would support the Councils rhetoric about the City becoming more
green, bicycle friendly, net-zero and electric tiny-home oriented. Seems like providing more parking will
not move you to that goal. It will just bring more cars. Parking will still be a problem. Moving the adobe
to the Mission Plaza with the newest Plaza bathroom renovation was discussed at the last CHC meeting.
However I realize that would be impractical as the crumbling adobe bricks would not survive the move.
Our City heritage is important in that it reminds us of how we got here and keeps SLO town more human
scale and characteristic, which is why most folks moved here in the first place isn’t it? Thanks for reading
this. I hope your decisions make sense for the majority.
