NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGER CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO DECEMBER 2012 — OCTOBER 2019 Principal management of the City of San Luis Obispo's Natural Resources Program. Duties include oversight and stewardship of the City's Greenbelt Protection Program comprised of over 4,000 acres of open space lands across fourteen major properties held in open space reserve, natural reserve, agricultural reserve, or ecological reserve status, as well as 3,600 acres of land protected by open space or conservation easements; conservation planning and real property acquisition; leadership on the Open Space Team with the City's Ranger Service that provides design and construction of the City's trail network of nearly fifty miles, as well as site patrol, maintenance and restoration, and capital improvement projects within the City's Greenbelt Open Space; supervision of the City Biologist and conservation science initiatives; administration of farmland and rangeland leases and community partnerships; environmental review of General Plan updates, Specific Plans, parcel maps, subdivision maps, and EIRs; representation of the City in multi -agency stakeholder processes; development and implementation of City Council -directed Major City Goal and Other Important Objective work plans; participation on the City's Stormwater Technical Committee, Climate Action "Green" Team, Design Review Team, and Development Oversight Committee. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR THE LAND CONSERVANCY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY MARCH 2O10 — NOVEMBER 2012 Executive supervision of the business and affairs of The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County, a non-profit land trust organization with a $1 million annual operating budget, net assets of $6.8 million, eight FTE and four to six seasonal employees (as of 2012). Duties included: maintain the organization as a trusted public charity; provide support to the Board of Trustees in carrying out the mission of the organization; maintain a strong and positive presence of the organization within the community; develop and implement the strategic plan and annual business plan for the organization; manage and provide strategic oversight to the Land Conservation Program; foster a collaborative, team -driven corporate culture to ensure high level business and management decisions, project implementation, and mission success; Corporate Secretary and Records Officer. CONSERVATION DIRECTOR THE LAND CONSERVANCY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY JULY 2005 - MARCH 2O10 Director -level leadership and management to The Land Conservancy in the development and oversight of conservation projects, community outreach, and public relations, as approved by the Board of Trustees. Prepare or provide oversight of conservation planning analysis and reports; Geographic Information Systems analysis and mapping; land conservation project implementation including landowner relations, project feasibility and due diligence, funding, documentation, and closing; conservation easement monitoring and land stewardship activities. Land conservation project history totaling over 5,000 acres valued at over $30 million.
