Dear Members of the San Luis Obispo ARC,
I support the six-story building proposed on 1144 Chorro.
Every piece of land in our downtown core that we cover with a new single story or two story building is a
missed opportunity. Within our downtown, it is important that we maximize our density. Not only will
this increase the potential of affordability, but it also preserves our green space boundary. Up not out! If
not here, where?
There are many wonderful cities all across the world where the downtown core averages 4 to 6 stories,
buildings side by side; Copenhagen, Florence, Boston and Kungsholmen, just to name a few. My
daughter currently lives in the heart of Copenhagen, on the 5th floor. She loves it. The building was
constructed in the late 1700’s. It's time for San Luis Obispo to build for the future.
