Dear Mayor and City Council Members, Please know that I agree with the actions of our local law enforcement team in the use of tear gas. The actions previously by PD were honorable and peaceful. The thought of demonstrators closing 101 at night is absolutely not acceptable. Innocent travelers would likely be attacked in their cars. That was common sense to preserve the safety of everyone by ordering disbursal, waiting and then taking action. I noted several groups of individuals congregating in the parking garage Monday with skate boards and was nearly knocked off of a sidewalk by skateboarder downtown on Saturday. Hummm, those folks probably not locals who would know these are banned. We cannot stand by and let chaos rule. If the council has any other ideas, then let’s hear them.
