ABRIANNA TORRES Age: 27
Occupation: Business Consultant/Coach
My name is Abrianna Torres. I am running for San Luis Obispo City Council. I am
a proud product of SLO, having attended public schools before studying at The
University of Colorado on a track scholarship where I earned All Academic in the
PAC 12 Conference. Upon graduation I worked as a Correctional Deputy for the
San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Department before transitioning to my current role as a
Small Business Consultant.
I am a proud daughter to loving parents whose hard work and commitment to
family allowed my four siblings and I to experience the blessings this great town
has to offer.
In recent months, we’ve seen the “happiest city in America” devolve into a city
divided. Our community members have been branded as racist and our police
department marginalized. A limited number of people and perspectives from our
community have been given a voice. We are in desperate need of diversity of
thought.
We’ve also seen governmental mismanagement, burdensome regulations and
excessive taxes cripple our hard working community members and local
businesses. As a coach/mentor to young athletes and a small business
consultant, I’m passionate about developing forward-thinking, results-driven
strategies and I will do the same as a member of the SLO City Council.
