■ We are not requesting copies of physical reports for any such contacts at this time.
If any of the requested documents contain information on an informant protected by YOUR state statutes, I
request that you delete only that portion of the record as permitted by law and provide me with a redacted
version of the requested document.
If all, or a portion of requested documents are withheld, please provide me with a written explanation as to the
legal authority for such non -disclosure. Such explanation is required by law and allows a requesting party to
seek remedy under YOUR state statutes.

RE: Public Records Act Request
Dear Ms. Lamers,
I am responding to your Public Records Act request received by the San Luis Obispo Police
Department via fax on August 17, 2020 in which you requested the following:
"...a list of any contact(s) that your agency has had with the following individual(s) —
JACK, Wendel
If you have a municipal court, include records filed with that court."
Please note that as a California Law Enforcement Agency, we are governed by the California
Public Records Act, not the Freedom of Information Act.
Per California law, I am unable to provide a list of contacts as that is considered criminal history
information per California Penal Code Section 13300. 1 am also unable to provide criminal
history information to you as the public is not on the list of entities that criminal history
information may be released to (see Penal Code § 13300(b)(1)-(17) and § 13300(c)(1)-(12)).
If you are searching for a specific incident, I can provide the information that must be released
per the California Public Records Act, California Government Code Section 6254(f), but I will
need additional information regarding the incident to locate it (date, time, location, type of
incident, etc.).
As for your request for municipal court documents, you will need to contact the San Luis Obispo
County Superior Court directly to obtain any court documents.
