HomeMy WebLinkAbout9/15/2020 Item 9, Mulholland Wilbanks, Megan From:Christine Mulholland < To:E-mail Council Website Subject:Froom Ranch To the Mayor and Council Members, The refrain for years has been we must grow up or we will sprawl out. If you approve the proposal before you, you put the lie to it. Taller buildings in downtown do not stop sprawl and annexations, and your council has shown itself unwilling to deny any of the major growth and development that has come before you. The very requirement of adopting Statements of Overriding Considerations tells us that you will bend over backward to make a bad project acceptable. It tells us you don’t really give a damn about current residents and their quality of life. As is usual with SOC, these are lame and ridiculous. But you don’t care. Full speed ahead. Only last week, in the middle of the day, there was gridlock on Los Osos Valley Rd. between the freeway and Froom Ranch Rd., requiring three light signal changes to navigate that short distance. I’m asking you to just say NO. Give it a rest. None of this will help achieve your Climate Action Plan goals, nor your woefully inadequate provision of affordable housing. Sincerely, Christine Mulholland 805-544-6618 1
