A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISP O
APPROVING REVISED STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AN D
ENGINEERING STANDARDS FOR CONSTRUCTIO N
WHEREAS,the Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining Standar d
Specifications and Engineering Standards establishing quality requirements and contract condition s
for construction ; an d
WHEREAS,the Standard Specifications and Engineering Standards must be periodicall y
updated to allow for changes in construction practices and contract law ; and
WHEREAS,legally adopted Standard Specifications are necessary to provide "design an d
plan immunity" thereby protecting the City from possible liability .
NOW, BE IT RESOLVED,by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows :
1.Approve the revised City Standard Specifications and Engineering Standards .
2.Rescind Resolution No . 9628 (2004 Series) approving the previous editions of th e
Standard Specifications and Engineering Standards .
Upon motion of Council Member Mulholland and seconded by Council Member Ewan and
on the following roll call vote :
AYES :Council Members Brown, Mulholland and Ewan, and Mayor Romero
NOES :Non e
ABSENT :Vice Mayor Settl e
The foregoing resolution was adopted this 6th day of December 2005 .
