A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISP O
ADOPTING THE REVISED URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLA N
WHEREAS,the California Legislature enacted Assembly Bill 797 during the 1983-198 4
Regular Session, and as amended subsequently, which mandates that every supplier providin g
water for municipal purposes to more than 3,000 customers or supplying more than 3,000 acr e
feet of water annually, prepare an Urban Water Management Plan ; an d
WHEREAS,the City is an urban supplier of water providing water to a population ove r
40,000 ; an d
WHEREAS,the Plan shall be periodically reviewed at least once every five years, an d
that the City shall make any amendments or changes to its plan which are indicated by th e
review ; an d
WHEREAS,the Plan must be adopted, after public review and hearing, and filed wit h
the California Department of Water Resources within thirty days of adoption ; and
WHEREAS,The City has therefore prepared for public review a draft Urban Wate r
Management Plan, and a properly noticed public hearing regarding the Plan was held by the Cit y
Council on December 6, 2005 ; and
WHEREAS,the City of San Luis Obispo did prepare and shall file said Plan with th e
California Department of Water Resources .
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo that the Urban Wate r
Management Plan, consisting of text with tables and figures, with changes reflected in the staff
report presented to the Council on December 6, 2005, on file in the City Clerk's Office, is hereb y
adopted.
