It’s nearly unfathomable that the city would decide to bulldoze the Costco jumps with no input from the cycling
community or a proposed replacement. Except it actually happened.
This was a community resource on easily accessible city property that has been in DAILY use by kids and adults for well
over a decade.
People have asked Parks and Rec for a pump track or legal jump park for many years. Please ReMake the Costco Jump
area a dedicated bike jump zone like the Eucs is on Cuesta Ridge. The city clearly can insure jump parks (we insure the
Eucs somehow). The Costco jumps being gone effectively means there are no accessible bike parks for kids (or anyone)
in SLO now. Make this an official bike jump zone and insure it so the community can get back to enjoying learning new
skills. Just like skaters at the skatepark.
