DISCUSSION On March 17, 2020, Council authorizes advertisement of the Broad/Woodbridge Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon, Specification No. 91609. On December 17, 2020 one bid was received and opened. The received bid was from Lee Wilson Electric and within the authorized publicly disclosed funding amount. Staff reviewed the bid document and the Contractor’s references, license and registration with the Department of Industrial Relations has been verified. Staff therefore recommends awarding a construction contract to Lee Wilson Electric Company, Inc. FISCAL IMPACT There is a current funding balance of $406,436 in the project account. This is sufficient funding to award the project , while preserving approximately 1 0 percent of the construction cost available for contingencies. Funding Sources Amount General Fund (Local Revenue Measure) $35,000 Infrastructure Investment Fund $80,000 State (Urban State Highway Account) $140,000 Transportation Impact Fees (Citywide) $152,134,52 Total $407,134.52 Award Broad/Woodbridge Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon, Spec. No. 91609 Page 2 Project Costs Construction Cost $366,714 Contingencies (10%) $36,672 Total Costs $403,385.40 Project Funding Current Balance $407,134.52 Remaining Funding $3,749.12 ALTERNATIVES Deny awarding the project. The City Manger could choose to postpone the project. Staff does not recommend this alternative as the project is funded by Urban State Highway Account money and is expected to complete this project.
