RESOLUTION NO. 11390 (2023 SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS
OBISPO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING USE OF CAPITAL PROJECTS
RESERVE FUND TO SUPPORT NORTH BROAD STREET
NEIGHBORHOOD PARK SPECIFICATION NUMBER 91683
WHEREAS, in June of 2018, City Council approved the 2017-19 Financial Plan
Supplement 2018-19 Adopted Budget, which identified the North Broad Street
Neighborhood Park (Project) with the budget of $75,000 to support design efforts; and
WHEREAS, in June of 2019, City Council approved the 2019-21 Financial Plan –
Capital Improvement Program, which identified the Project with the budget of $665,000
to support design and construction efforts; and
WHEREAS, in January of 2020, the City Manager approved a budget transfer of
$43,000 from the Parkland Development Fund Undesignated Capital account to the North
Broad Street Neighborhood Park project account to support the environmental review
process; and
WHEREAS, in June of 2021, City Council approved the 2021-23 Financial Plan –
Capital Improvement Program, which identified the Project with additional budget of
$175,000 to support implementation of the work; and
WHEREAS, to provide funding to support the total construction contract for the
Project, staff is recommending City Council approve the use of an additional $200,000 from
the Capital Projects Reserve Fund; and
WHEREAS, a balance of $1,918,708 available from the Capital Projects Reserve
Fund; and
WHEREAS, there is a concurrent Capital Reserve Fund request of $1.5 Million for
the San Luis Obispo Creek Repair Project, subject to Council approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Luis
Obispo as follows:

SECTION 1. The City Council authorizes staff to transfer $200,000 from the
Capital Projects Reserve Fund to the North Broad Street Neighborhood Park project
account 91683.
Upon motion of Mayor Stewart, seconded by Council Member Vice Mayor Marx,
and on the following roll call vote:
AYES: Council Member Francis, Pease, Shoresman, Vice Mayor Marx, and
Mayor Stewart
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
