October 2010: Kate and Jennie: The Cox sisters came to pioneer California to be teachers Both demonstrated
that being unable to vote (until 1911) did not deter them from successful lives
November 2011: San Luis Obispo 1921-1923 Mary Gail Black only spent two years in this community but
was drawn back to live here and write about her memories as a reporter

bnng thousands of new residents to the central coast and elsewhere
April 2012: Chauncey Hatch Phillips: Part II: After a successful career in San Francisco, Phillips helps
establish the first bank in the county and develop some 8000 acres
May 2012: History in City Hall: While the icon of local government appears to most as a business and
municipal center, the City's past is represented along with the present
June 2012: Chauncey Hatch Phillips: Part 111: Pnmanly a land developer, the civic leader capitalized on the
State's growth. It was time for the railroad to enter the County from the north
July 2012: Chauncey Hatch Phillips: Part IV: After his largest land promotion in creating the town of
Templeton. Phillips moves on to other ventures in Morgan Hill He died in 1902
August 2012: Parker H. French: Pan I: A young villain from New York wrecks havoc in many lives leading
an early wagon train from Texas to California.
September 2012: Parker H. French: Part II: Having run out of excuses. Parker abandons the wagon train and
flees into Mexico for a more open life as bandit and outlaw
October 2012: Parker H. French: Part IH: French captivates the population of a rustic SLO, is appointed
District Attorney, elected to the Assembly but goes on to more notonous pursuits
