Regular Meeting of the Promotional Coordinating Committee
CALL TO ORDER
A Regular Meeting of the San Luis Obispo Promotional Coordinating Committee was
called to order on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 5:32 p.m., by Chair Welch.
ROLL CALL
Present: Chair Samantha Welch, and Vice Chair Lori Lerian, Committee Members,
Maureen Forsberg, Anni Wang, and John Thomas
Absent: Members Robin Wolf and Clint Pearce
Staff: Tourism Manager Molly Cano and Tourism Analyst Jacqui Clark-
Charlesworth

ACTION: UPON MOTION BY MEMBER FORSBERG SECONDED BY COMMITTEE
MEMBER THOMAS CARRIED 5-0 (WITH MEMBERS WOLF AND PEARCE ABSENT)
to approve the Consent Agenda items 1 thru 7.

Allie Rohlfs, Verdin presented the third quarter report for the Support Local marketing
activities and Public Art Promotion activities, and updates on the next quarter’s
activities.

2.PUBLIC RELATIONS, GIA SUPPORT, & VISITOR SERVICES QUARTER
REPORT
Jim Dantona and Hollie West, SLO Chamber presented the third quarter report for the
Public Relations, GIA, and Visitor Services activities.

BUSINESS ITEMS
1.Q4 CULTURAL GIA RECOMMENDATIONS
The subcommittee presented the Q4 funding recommendations for the committee’s
review and approval.

ACTION: By consensus, the Committee agreed to not approve the Central Coast
Childbirth Network, Inc GIA request.
2.FY 23-24 BUDGET PRIORITIES
Tourism Manager Cano provided an overview of priorities and direction for the FY
2023-2024 PCC program budget.

ACTION: By consensus, the Committee discussed working on a creating neighborhood
identity now that the district maps are done and other celebrations to promote.
PCC LIAISON REPORTS AND COMMUNICATION
1.GIA LIAISON REPORT –
Tourism Manager Cano went over the new GIA assignments.
2.COMMITTEE OUTREACH UPDATE - None
3.TBID BOARD REPORT –
Tourism Manager Cano reported on April 12, 2023, TBID meeting.
4.TOURISM PROGRAM UPDATE
Tourism Manager Molly Cano provided a brief Tourism Program update.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 7:16 p.m. The next Regular Promotional Coordinating
Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall
990 Palm Street.
