(The City cannot impose limits on independent expenditures--although it can require disclosure.) 1) Council 2) City Attorney 2.40.050.A. The word "promptly" when referring to transmitting contributions to the campaign treasurer is vague. City Clerk 2.040.060 1) Form 501 is now filed with the City Clerk's office rather than the Secretary of State. 2) This section should be revisited to indicate that accounts may be opened at a financial institution that has a branch in the City of SLO. 3) Section G should be revisited. City Clerk 2.40.170 This section refers to political signs and needs revision/clarification. Code Enforcement MISC Forms 101 and 102 do not address whether they may be faxed. * Forms 101 and 102 do not address whether fines may be applicable if submitted late. * Forms 101 and 102 do not make provisions for amendments to be filed. * For a November election, can contributions be received until December 31st of election year? If so, clarify language in ordinance. * Consider revising the reporting limit from $25 or greater than $25. Council Can the filing periods on Forms 101 and 102 be revised to coincide with the State's filing periods? Candidates/Council Consider increasing the contribution limit, particularly since it's the same as it was when the Code was first adopted in 1971.
