HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 223 April 1927RESOLUTION No. 223 (New Series) Declaring and finding that the two propositions of amending the charter of the city of San Luis Obispo submitted to the qualified voters of said city on April 4th. 1927, received the vote of a majority of all the voters voting on such propositions. Be it resolved by the council of the city of San Luis Obispo as follows: Whereas tine city council of the city of San Luis Obispo, did on the 21st. day of February, 19::7, by resolution No. 215 (New Serees) subrait to tine qualified electors of the city of San Luis Obispo, the proposals for the ariendment of th(; charter of said city, which said proposalE were as follows, to -V;it: Charter Araendaent No. 3. Section 10 of Article 111 of the Charter of the City of San Luis Obispo is here- by amended so that the same shall be and read as follows: Sec. 10. TEUd Oi OFc'ICE Ct' ;.,AYOR CLERL. The mayor shall hold office for a term of V.!o years f om and after the 15th. day of !.,lay after his election, s.nd until his successor is elected and qualified. The city clerk shall hold office for a terra of four years from and after the 15th. day of ;:Lay after his ele.:tioal, and until iils successor is elected and qualified. ' Charter uaendment No. 4. Section 15 of Article 111 of the Charter of the 0ity of San Luis Obispo is hereby amended so that the samo shall be and read as f0ill0VJs: Sec. 15. SALARIES. The mayor shell receive an annual salary of six hundred dollars, payable in equal monthly installments. The city clerk shall. receive an annual salary of one thousand nine hundred twenty dollars, paya:)le in equal. monthly installments. 'Each councilman shall receive an annual salary of five hundred dollars, payable in e.ival monthl;; installments. Each school director shall receive two and one -half dollars for ez;ch regular meeting of the board of education which he shall. attend, provided that ile shall not receive more than ten dollare in. any one month. And whereas said two proposals were duly submitted to the qualified voters of said cit, at the general municipal election held on the 4th. day of April, 1927, and said council ha•ing canvassed the returns of said election finds the same to be ;;s here- inafter set forth. It is hereby resolved, found and declared that the number of voters voting on said charter amendiaent number three was 2093; and that 1529 voters voted in favor thereof. It is hereby resolved, found and declared that the number of voters voting on said charter ariendment number four was 2089; and that 1508 voters voted in favor thereof. It is further resolved, found and declared that a majority of the qualified voters voted in favor of e &jh of said alaendments and ratified the same. It is further resolved that the mayor a_i_d city cleric bo, and they are hereby authorized to eeltify to thu adoption of said amendments and to do such further acts I and things as :nay be required to se. -ure the approval of said amendments by the Legislature of 'he State of California.
